Wow! You cannot get any more Bad-Ass than this!
Extremely Rare Ennebi Ref 5218 aka the Titanic! This unofficial name points at a watch designed and built by request of an english collector. It is intended to be put on over the diving gear and it made to be read by divers (in particular by incursori) who are breathing pure oxygen. For the design and setting-up of this watch, ENNEBI‘s designer Alessandro Bettarini (ENNEBI) did not use as reference either watches currently on sale, ot watches from the past, or any prototypes. This project was inspired by the model built by Panerai in the 50s for a department of the armed forces of Egypt and therefore known to collectors as “Egiziano”.
Titanic is made of stainless steel AISI 316 and it has some peculiarities that make it unique with respect to other watches for divers. The lever located on the left side of the watch, that is near to the upper lug on the opposite side with respect to the charging crown (the lever can roll away into the watch), is used to block the bezel. When the lever is out (open), the bezel can rotate freely in both directions. The bezel can be dismounted without harm the water-tightness of the watch. It can be removed by using three pivot screws located on the case back of the watch.
The charging crown has 2 gaskets that assure the water-tightness of the watch up to a maximum pressure of 30 Mpa. An O-ring seal located on the recharging axis and an energized-fluoropolymer lip seal allow to recharge and to put in action the watch even during a deep immersion.
The dial is engraved by means of a mechanical pantograph and the incisions are filled with a luminescent paste.
The movement used is the Swiss Manual Wind 6497 on which the watch identification number is engraved. The standard version of Ennebi Titanic Model 5218-MM belongs to a limited serie of 99 pieces. Make no mistake…this extremely rare piece is a pre-series and numbered #08/10. There is no other pre-series available anywhere in the world for sale. I have never seen another for sale ever! In fact, there is only 1 of the regular version for sale and it is listed at $8960!
And best of all, this watch was just serviced by Ennebi in January 2019 (813£) and under service warranty until Jan 2020!
