As usual, we’re zooming in to take a closer look at one specific watch model. This time, we’re giving our undivided attention to the Rolex Submariner ref. 16610LV, a.k.a. the “Kermit.” This special-edition Submariner boasts a black dial and green bezel and debuted on the iconic diving watch’s 50th birthday. It’s easy to confuse the “Kermit” with the Submariner “Hulk,” ref. 116610LV, which has both a green dial and bezel. The “Kermit,” released in 2003, predates the “Hulk” and was the first Submariner to feature the color green. This is a real novelty because colorful accents have always been rare on steel Rolex sports models, bar a few GMT-Masters. The “Kermit” has enjoyed serious popularity and impressive price developments in the years since its release – we take a look at all that and more in this video.
