Description

In 1948 Omega launched "The Master" series of watches to celebrate the 100 anniversary of Louis Brandt's watchmaking Dynasty. The first "master" series was the Seamaster. Designed to be a functional water resistant hard working timepiece.

The seahorse-adorned case back of the Seamaster series pays tribute to Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. The seahorse logo was conceived by engraver Jean-Pierre Borle. He was inspired by an image of Neptune driving a chariot pulled by seahorses, which is why the Omega seahorses are depicted wearing bridles.

This very crisp Omega Seamaster (166.064) circa1968 is manufactured with an automatic calibre 562 movement in all stainless steel, featuring:

Silver dial with day and date window, plexiglass, stainless steel case, stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp.

Condition:

Dial and hands lightly marked, glass lightly scratched, hands marked, case and back lightly scratched/dented, bracelet lightly scratched/worn, clasp lightly scratched/dented, secure.

Watch size (for wrist): 19.5cm

Eleven links at 12 o clock side (One adjustable)

Ten links at 6 o clock side (One adjustable)
