Retro Design Meets Modern Technology
Tudor was clearly inspired by famous diving watches from the 1950s when designing the dial of the Black Bay 41. However, unlike other Black Bay models, this version lacks a diving bezel; instead, it features a stationary bezel in polished stainless steel. When Tudor launched the smaller Black Bay 36 in 2016, it quickly drew comparisons to the legendary Rolex Explorer thanks to its bezel and other details.
The Swiss manufacturer equips the Black Bay 41 with their famous snowflake hands. Combined with dot indices, this timepiece boasts a truly unique design. The Black Bay 41 is water-resistant to 150 m (15 bar, 492 ft), so while it may look like a diver, it's actually only suited for swimming. Finally, the timepiece gets its power from the caliber 2824, supplied to Tudor by Swiss movement manufacturer ETA.
The Black Bay 41 S&G models are especially eye-catching. These two-tone watches are made of stainless steel and have a satin-brushed gold bezel. The final result looks like something straight out of the 1980s. Like every Black Bay 41, these watches come with the words "ROTOR" and "SELF-WINDING" above 6 o'clock. The latter is bowed, as seen on select vintage Tudors from the 1950s and 60s.

Prices for the Black Bay 41 S&G
Two-tone Black Bay 41 watches have a satin-brushed gold bezel and gold crown. In terms of the dial, you can choose from black or champagne. The champagne editions boast a beautiful sunburst pattern, lending these timepieces a sense of depth. As with every Black Bay watch, glow-in-the-dark SuperLuminova fills the hands and indices, guaranteeing optimal readability under all lighting conditions.
Tudor mounts these models on a five-piece link bracelet reminiscent of Rolex's Jubilee bracelet – the two are sister companies, after all. Its outermost links are stain-brushed stainless steel, and the central link is polished stainless steel with a row of brushed gold links on either side.
The ref. 79543-0001 features a black dial and changes hands for about 3,800 USD new on Chrono24. This model has an official list price of 3,920 euros (approx. 4,300 USD). Pre-owned pieces are few and far between.

ETA: Time-Tested Swiss Calibers
Tudor outfits the Black Bay 41 – as well as the Black Bay 32 and 36 – with the proven ETA caliber 2824. Unlike proprietary technology, these movements involve lower production costs and can be serviced by almost any watchmaker once the warranty has expired. ETA offers this movement in different quality grades. Tudor uses the second-highest (or "Top") grade, which they then modify in house. Fully wound, this movement has a 38-hour power reserve.
