Description

This is an automatically translated text.
Subject of the offer is a very early - ca. 1845 - repetition pocket watch with unique movement and manufacturing quality in solid 18K 750 gold of the Swiss luxury watch manufactures of the epoch par excellence: Freres Esquivillon

Attention: Watch runs on and through well, but the repetition beats sometimes correctly and sometimes not, it is functional in any case. This is not really a thing with a watch that is over 170 years old, but it should be mentioned explicitly as a quasi "mini defect".

Description:

Very early (1855), solid gold pocket watch with quarter repeater, earliest parachute shock protection, one of the very first repeater pocket watches ever made in Switzerland

I don't dare to check the gold content considering the age and value, probably 18 carat / 750 gold, but I don't want to take a sample from this piece of watch history in its dream state.

Technically it is a Lepine with quarter repeater, ca. 1845, case diameter: 45mm, 66,4g 18K gold, guilloché, dust cover marked " Esquivillon a Geneve".

High precision movement, parachute shock protection, repetition of hours and quarters, enamel dial unrestored in best condition, blued Breguet steel hands, roman numerals, three-cover watch with inner movement protection cover, earliest lever movement and parachute shock protection according to Breguet

The movement starts and stops perfectly (accuracy not tested, we recommend a revision by a master watchmaker for a piece of this age) Repetition hangs sometimes

ez: 2 - age-related (170 years!!) good condition, dial unrestored flawless, lids close flush, movement clean, repeater sometimes hangs a bit
