The SVAK1001 is probably the most extraordinary and certainly the most elaborately produced mechanical Swatch of all time:

Around 20 years ago, the retail price was an incredible 3333 euros for a Swatch. On the back, where it is not visible when worn, a vss diamond of approx. 0.075 ct is set. This detail also makes the watch special in its own way. By far the most impressive feature, however, is the specially developed movement, which is classified as a carousel tourbillon. The movement rotates on its own axis inside the watch, so the watch looks slightly different every time you look at it.

For the technology freaks: The axis of rotation of the balance cage is also the axis of the movement, which means that the balance wheel and escapement orbit the center of the watch like a satellite! The entire gear train of the conventional mechanical movement is mounted on the platform that serves as the plate of the rotating cage, together with the escapement and the balance wheel! This rotating cage completes a full rotation in 30 minutes. Three barrels, which are mounted below the rotating cage on the fixed plate, form the energy store. That's enough... watch and enjoy.

The watch has never been worn (as can be seen very clearly from the unused leather strap), so it is brand new. During our test on the time scale, the watch ran very well at around + 15 s / d with an amplitude of 286 degrees. These are top values when you consider that Swatch specifies a rate accuracy of + 25 to - 25 s / d in the technical data.
